Gender Differences in Punctuation
This article is about gender differences in punctuation marks, and how this reflects society's view on different genders. One quote that really stood out to me was:
"Results from a study on exclamation use among gender found that 73% of exclamation use is by women. This has little to do with preference. Instead, it is a tool that women have adapted to maintain the appearance of friendliness. Because it is viewed as a feminine form of punctuation, men have grown accustomed to women’s response including an exclamation mark."
